Boston Children’s Chorus’ (BCC) mission is to harness the power of music to connect the city's diverse communities, cultivate empathy, and inspire social inquiry. The goal of the BCC Good Trouble Project is to bring the joy of singing and gathering in community to even more neighborhoods across Boston, taking an important step to ensure that BCC is a thriving, diverse community in which all are welcomed and included and know that their identities and cultures are seen, reflected, and celebrated. Justworks’ grant would fund more after school music programs, community-fostering Intergenerational Conversations, and inclusive musical events in Boston's diverse Mattapan and East Boston neighborhoods, and overnight enrichment experiences and tours in New England and nationally. The Good Trouble Project helps ensure BCC is doing all it can to equip diverse Boston youth, one of the region’s greatest resources, with the transferable skills needed for a successful future and impactful, artful life grounded in community, creativity, empathy, and justice.
Street Soccer USA mobilizes the power of soccer to fight poverty and strengthen communities. Girls First Initiative creates a more equitable and inclusive playing field for female players, one where girls feel comfortable and confident developing their skills on and off the field. Justworks’ grant would support the Girls First program infrastructure, specifically for soccer programming in Oakland, California, laying the groundwork for Street Soccer USA to launch at least 3 girls teams and increase their female-led coaching staff. The grant would directly support the staff and coaches running the program, going straight back into the communities Street Soccer USA serves.
StreetWise Partners is on a mission to create the most diverse, empowered, and capable workforce of today and tomorrow. StreetWise Partners is working to ensure that mentees in their programs are employed faster at higher starting salaries. The organization is expanding their Talent Services program, placing more mentees into jobs, and Justworks’ grant would support this program expansion in New York City. The objective of this project is to double the number of annual job placements over the next 12 months by building employer partnerships with global companies, and expanding employment service offerings, such as arranging interviews on behalf of the candidate, providing constructive feedback after interviews, and - following employment - assisting more program graduates with job onboarding, providing guidance on workplace integration, and offering resources for professional development or training opportunities.
Team4Tech is a nonprofit impact accelerator bridging the digital equity gap in education to create inclusion and opportunities for under-resourced learners worldwide. While the scale of Team4Tech’s global Community of Practice program is important for amplifying its impact, the organization’s ultimate goal is bridging the digital equity gap in education and to co-design a sustainable and engaged community of NPO staff and educators. The Justworks grant would support scaling Community of Practice with additional educators, NPO engagement, and the development of localized resources, all while fostering an engaged community along the way.
